Investment management firm Neuberger Berman plans to add an additional 47,000 square feet to its new 355,000-square-foot global headquarters at 1290 Avenue of the Americas between West 51st and West 52nd Streets, Crain’s New York Business reported.

This pre-move expansion brings Neuberger Berman’s total footprint at 1290 Avenue of the Americas, a 43-story, Class A tower owned by Vornado Realty Trust, to approximately 400,000 square feet. Read More

Modern Spaces, which has grown beyond its Long Island City roots with Manhattan and Brooklyn offices, is launching a commercial and investment property division to be headed by Evan Daniel. If “The Yard” sounds more like a business selling milled lumber than one renting office space to start-up tech and media outfits, any confusion has caused no apparent harm to the venture by that name co-owned and operated by Richard Beyda and Morris Levy. In 2011, the pair opened the inaugural Yard location in Williamsburg—a 14,000 square-foot facility overlooking McCarren Park, and offering month-to-month rentals for office space to companies of roughly one to eight people. New York-Presbyterian Hospital last Thursday got the O.K. from state health regulators for its expansion and takeover of New York Downtown Hospital.

The nation’s second oldest hospital will build a new ambulatory care center at 1283 York Avenue. The facility will be home to facilities for surgery, infusion therapy, primary car, MRIs and radiology. It will cost an estimated $895.5 million. Read More
